The qualification of a person’s academic ability is assessed through the level of formal study that has been undertaken. The practice of non-formal education is often not officially or formally recognized.
In some cases, there are problems that prevent a person from attending formal education. In other cases, there are also problems that occur to students that make them unable to complete their studies.
These problems are solved through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program. The program provides an opportunity for a person to achieve formal recognition from an educational institution or university.
However, not all universities are ready to run such programs, so they require comparative studies to universities that have successfully run such programs. Semarang University (USM) paid a working visit to UPGRIS to study the program.
“UPGRIS has successfully run the RPL program, so we feel the need to conduct a comparative study to UPGRIS. We want to learn about how the administration process of the program is run,” said Hendrianto Sundaro, SE, MT, head of USM’s PWK study program, in the Central Building, on 6 February 2023.
Welcoming the visit, UPGRIS Vice Rector 1 for Academic Affairs, Dr Muniroh Munawar, S.Pi., M.Pd., expressed his interest in sharing experiences.
“UPGRIS has so far implemented the RPL program, and the effect is that many people are interested in joining this program,” said Muniroh. In fact, Muniroh also said that UPGRIS is open to anyone who wants to learn about the program.
