UPGRIS TAEKWONDO ATHLETE WINS 8 GOLD MEDALS

UPGRIS students are showing their talents again. This time in the field of taekwondo. A total of 8 students won gold medals in the “Indonesian Taekwondo Championship” MGMP Jakarta Governor’s Cup. The match was held at GOR Ciracas, East Jakarta, on 17-19 March 2023.

“The results obtained by the students are the result of hard work and tireless training. I am very proud of the quality of the students’ performance,” said Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Dr Sapto Budoyo, M.H. he said.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UPGRIS, Dr Sri Suciati, M.Hum, welcomed the success. “To develop their skills, students cannot only rely on learning in class. Students must also participate in off-campus activities to hone their talents,” she said.

The Rector added that the success of the taekwondo athlete was the result of persevering in learning outside the classroom. The gold-winning students came from various study programmes. They are, first, Misael Oui Genta Pradana, a student of the PJKR study programme who won a gold medal in the men’s over 87 kg class.

Second, Yakub Angga Wibowo, a student of the PJKR study programme who won the gold medal in the men’s under 58 kg class.

Third, Lintang Sari, a student of the PJKR study programme who won the gold medal in the women’s under 46 kg class.

Fourth, M.Alfirdaus H, a student from the Civil Enginering department won the gold medal in the men’s under 74 kg class.

Fifth, Benyamin Panehas Malelak Iyu, a PTI student who won the men’s under 54kg gold medal. Sixth, Ananta Ramadhani Saputra, a student of the Mechanical Engineering study programme who won gold in the men’s under 68 kg class.

Seventh, Alif Radtya Pratama, a student of the PJKR study programme who won the gold medal in the men’s under 63 kg class. And finally, Melya Avitasari, a student of the PJKR study programme who won a gold medal in the women’s under 49 class.
