Universitas PGRI Semarang (UPGRIS) is collaborating with a number of industries and entrepreneurs to provide space for students to carry out internships.
UPGRIS Rector, Dr Sri Suciati MHum, stated that the synergy between the campus and the business world and industry is important to prepare graduates to be accepted in the world of work.
It also involves the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in formulating standard operating procedures related to the implementation of internship practices.
“The technical guidelines will be used by students and industries in carrying out internship procedures. Thus, every company will know what to do when accepting internship students,” said the rector after signing the cooperation with several representatives of entrepreneurs and industries at UPGRIS, Thursday 2 March 2023.
The Rector acknowledged that in the era of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), the world of education needs assistance and cooperation with the business and industrial sectors. The involvement of the business world is considered important, especially during the implementation of internship practices for students.
This collaboration will change the paradigm of internships that were previously considered ineffective.
